What is comprehensible input?
Comprehensible input is language input that can be understood by listeners despite them not understanding all the words and structures in it. According to Krashen's theory of language acquisition, giving learners this kind of input helps them acquire language naturally, rather than learn it consciously.
How do I stay motivated?
Motivation is the key principle when learning a language. It takes a long time, so it’s important that you enjoy the process. Choosing material and topics you are interested in, is essential to making sure you keep going when things get tough.
How can i join a conversation when i don’t understand every word?
The reason you feel this way is probably because you are a perfectionist. You will have to overcome this mentality of focusing on every detail. Sometimes even a key word can give you the context of a conversation, which will allow you to continue speaking. The key tip is, “Fake it, till you make it.”
why do I always feel nervous when i speak to natives?
The simple answer is practice, you have not been exposed to authentic conversations with natives. The more time you spend speaking with a teacher, the more confident you will get. Confidence is the reward from practice. As the saying goes, “Practice makes perfect.”
